1. Single Purpose Statement

TubeTidy for YouTube™ ("the Extension", "we", "our") is built strictly for a single, focused purpose: to help users clean, organize, categorize, and deduplicate their personal YouTube Watch Later and custom playlists directly within their browser.

2. Zero Personal Data Collection & Telemetry

In accordance with the Google Chrome Web Store User Data Policy:

• No Personal Data Collected: We do NOT collect, harvest, transmit, store, sell, or analyze your name, email address, IP address, browsing history, watch history, search queries, or video library contents.
• Client-Side Only Execution: 100% of TubeTidy's computational logic, video classification, watched video detection, and batch operations execute locally in your browser tab strictly on https://www.youtube.com/*. All API communication occurs directly between your computer and YouTube's official endpoints (https://www.youtube.com/*).
• Zero Remote Servers: TubeTidy does not communicate with any proprietary backend server, cloud relay, or remote database.
• No Analytics or Tracking: TubeTidy contains zero Google Analytics, telemetry SDKs, crash logging trackers, tracking pixels, or third-party advertising scripts.

3. Chrome Permissions Justification (Least Privilege)

TubeTidy adheres strictly to the principle of least privilege. We only request the minimum set of permissions necessary for core functionality:

• host_permissions: ["*://*.youtube.com/*"]: Required solely to inject the management toolbar into YouTube's playlist interface (e.g. youtube.com/playlist?list=WL) and perform user-initiated batch playlist operations directly against YouTube's session endpoints.
• storage: Required solely to persist your local user preferences (such as custom batch sizes or dark theme preferences) and store your local ExtensionPay license status token within chrome.storage.local.
• cookies: Required solely to read the session authentication token (SAPISID) from your active YouTube tab to calculate the cryptographic SAPISIDHASH required by YouTube's InnerTube API. This operation is executed strictly in local browser memory; your session cookies are NEVER logged, saved to disk, or transmitted to any third party.

4. Payment Processing (ExtensionPay / Stripe)

TubeTidy uses ExtensionPay (an official, PCI-compliant Stripe partner for browser extensions) to facilitate purchases for the optional Pro tier:

• All payment card transactions occur directly inside Stripe's secure, PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant checkout pages.
• TubeTidy does not receive, process, or store your credit card number, bank details, or billing address.
• Upon successful purchase or trial activation, ExtensionPay sends a cryptographic receipt token that is cached locally in your browser's chrome.storage.local to enable Pro features offline.

5. Compliance with Chrome Web Store Limited Use Requirements

TubeTidy strictly complies with the Google Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies and the Limited Use requirements:

• We do NOT transfer user data to third parties for advertising, retargeting, credit evaluation, or lending purposes.
• We do NOT use or transfer user data for serving personalized advertising.
• We do NOT allow humans to read user data under any circumstances.
• All operations performed by the extension are explicitly initiated and controlled by you, the user.

6. Security & Safe Two-Phase Protocol

TubeTidy employs an atomic Two-Phase Commit protocol for playlist operations. When migrating videos to new topic playlists, TubeTidy validates that YouTube's servers confirm successful receipt (STATUS_SUCCEEDED) before issuing any removal requests from your Watch Later list. This ensures zero data loss even if your internet connection is unexpectedly interrupted.

7. Changes to this Privacy Policy

If we make changes to this Privacy Policy, the revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Any substantial changes will be explicitly announced in the extension's Chrome Web Store release notes.
